Agreed. Fying Sucks
Wow. Although I have yet to get charged extra for a second bag, and my bags are never overweight, I still feel the same way. Flight delayed for two hours....oh hell yeah, thats a lot less than most of my delays. When people find out that I travel pretty much half of my life, they always say "Oh that has to be so fun while your young and everything!!" -- THEY HAVE NO CLUE. Flying SUCKS BALLS. And then to top it off, I'm my work puts me in some extravagant hotel in which they decide to hold their events in. I don't want turn down service, I CAN PULL MY OWN COVERS BACK OFF MY BED damn it. I dont NEED 16 new towels in my hotel room every night, maid service, leave me alone! I dont want to me stuck in another hotel somewhere across this country without having time to go SEE the city. To myself and my coworkers, we don't care where we are traveling to, it could be Iowa or Miami, the hotel ballrooms always have a stench to them. Don't even get me started on the aroma's of the loading docks of these places. If the city is easy to fly in and out of, thats all I care about. Everyone is amazed when I tell them that I miss being able to drive to these places like I did at my last job. At least then I got to see sights!
I could go on for hours why I will NEVER be able to enjoy flying again. If i'm going on vacation, I would MUCH rather drive.
Like I always tell people "No, it's not going to be fun going to _______ , I will have no free time. Everywhere I go for this job, it's 69 degrees and fluorescent lighting. Not to forget the fact that I will without a doubt have some sort of flying problems or delays."

Agreed. I traveled a lot for work last year. Let me tell you, it gets old real quick. I don't know how you do it Fetcho. Anyone that says they love traveling for work is a liar. They tell themselves that lie because they have to cope. See, Fetcho and I have something to go home to (hobbies, women, houses, friends) so we can admit "this sucks, but I will be home soon" and it means something. Also, I really wish we did have train services like Europe.
Work-related travel IS a far cry from decades past.
I always hated it...even more so now.
We could take a page from Europe when it comes to mass transit, whether it's in between COUNTRIES or even between (or within) CITIES.
You guys truly "get it"!
;)

Having been through the business travel ordeal, albeit before it was as unpleasant as it is now, I can empathize with frustrated flyers. There's something about the woman in the video, though, that makes me want to smack her and shout, "You go, ticket agent!"
Preach on Fetcho!
A ballroom is a ballroom. I base my experiences on how easy it was to load it and out of the building and much problems the staff gives us.
It doesn't matter where you fly out of, you might as well figure on a delay.
I still work for your old company...I wonder why I can rarely get out and see cities when I'm out of town. Oh yeah, THAT'S BECAUSE I'M NORMALLY OUT OF TOWN WITH YOUR NEW COMPANY!
